Japan’s Tallest Condominium

When Toranomon Hills Residential Tower was completed in January 2022, it stood approximately 221 metres tall — the highest residential building in Japan at that time. Developed by Mori Building as the third phase of the Toranomon Hills project, the tower contains 547 units across 54 floors with four basement levels, on a site at Atago 1-chome in Minato City. Design was by Kume Sekkei; construction by Takenaka Corporation.

Toranomon Hills has expanded gradually since the Mori Tower opened in 2014. The Business Tower followed in 2020, this Residential Tower in 2022, and the Station Tower completed the complex in 2023. The Residential Tower occupies a distinctive niche within that sequence: it is the only building in the complex dedicated primarily to housing. Its location beside Atago Hill, with Kasumigaseki’s government buildings to the north and Roppongi’s hills to the south, gives it a position between two of Tokyo’s defining urban zones. The tower is within walking distance of Toranomon Station on both the Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Ginza lines.
